RockDickson @ 08:08 am CST:: You can clean your oven naturally using a simple paste of baking soda and water, followed by a white vinegar spray to lift grease and burnt food. What you need: • Baking soda (about 1/2 to 1 cup) • Water (a few tablespoons to make a spreadable paste) • Distilled white vinegar in a spray bottle • Damp microfiber cloth or rag • Plastic scraper or old plastic card (avoid metal) • Dish soap and hot water for the racks Step-by-Step Instructions: 1. Prep the oven • Make sure the oven is completely cold and turned off. • Remove the oven racks, thermometer, and any loose crumbs or debris from the bottom using a paper towel or vacuum. 2. Apply the baking soda paste • Mix about 1/2 cup of baking soda with a few tablespoons of water in a small bowl until it forms a spreadable paste like cake frosting or pancake batter. • Spread the paste evenly across the interior surfaces—including the bottom, side walls, back wall, and glass door. • Avoid putting the paste directly on bare electrical heating elements or gas burners. • Let the paste sit for 8 to 12 hours (or overnight) so it can break down baked-on grease. 3. Clean the racks • While the paste sits in the oven, place your oven racks in a bathtub lined with an old towel (to prevent scratching). • Cover the racks with hot water and add a squirt of dish soap or a dishwasher pod. • Let them soak overnight, then scrub and rinse them clean the next day. 4. Wipe and activate with vinegar • Use a damp cloth or sponge to wipe away as much of the dried baking soda paste and loosened grime as possible. Use a plastic spatula or credit card for stubborn spots. [1] • Mist the interior with plain white vinegar from a spray bottle. The vinegar will fizz when it reacts with any remaining baking soda residue, lifting away the final film of grease. [1] • Wipe the interior down one last time with a clean, damp cloth and dry it with a microfiber towel. Put your clean racks back inside.

RockDickson @ 05:15 am CST:: Building a porch involves careful planning, building a solid foundation, framing the structure, and adding the roof and railings. 1. Planning and permits • Check local codes: Look up local building regulations for foundation depth, property line setbacks, stair sizes, and railing heights (usually 36 to 42 inches). • Design the layout: Sketch your porch dimensions, door clearance, and style, then mark out the footprint on the ground using stakes and string. 2. Setting the foundation • Dig footings: Dig holes for concrete piers or pour a concrete slab depending on your design. For pier-and-beam designs, use an auger to dig below the frost line, add gravel for drainage, and set concrete tubes. • Install anchor hardware: Wet-set metal post brackets into the concrete while it is still wet, or attach them securely once cured. 3. Framing the structure • Attach the ledger board: Fasten a pressure-treated ledger board to the house wall using structural screws, and install proper flashing to prevent water damage. • Erect posts and beams: Cut your vertical support posts (such as 4x4 or 6x6 lumber), anchor them to the foundation brackets, plumb and brace them, and mount the main horizontal header beams on top. • Build the floor frame: Install rim joists and floor joists (typically spaced 16 inches apart) using joist hangers, ensuring a slight pitch away from the house for water drainage. • Lay decking: Fasten your decking boards (wood, composite, or PVC) across the joists with small, even gaps for expansion and drainage. 4. Adding roof, railings, and stairs • Frame the roof: If building a covered porch, install rafters or trusses tied into the beam and house structure, then add sheathing and roofing material. • Install railings and stairs: Build or attach pre-cut stair stringers and treads, and install safety railings with balusters spaced no more than 4 inches apart if the porch is over 30 inches high.

RockDickson @ 02:21 am CST:: To change a flat tire safely, follow these step-by-step instructions: 1. Safety first • Park in a safe spot: Pull over on a flat, firm surface away from traffic. Never change a tire on a soft shoulder or a steep slope. • Secure the vehicle: Turn on your hazard lights, engage the parking brake, and put the car in Park (or Reverse/1st gear if it is a manual). • Block the wheels: Place wheel chocks, bricks, or large rocks diagonally opposite the tire you are changing to prevent the car from rolling. 2. Gather tools and loosen lug nuts • Get your gear: Pull out the spare tire, jack, and lug wrench from the trunk. • Remove the hubcap: If your car has a hubcap or wheel cover, pry it off using the flat end of the lug wrench or a screwdriver. • Loosen the lug nuts: Turn the lug nuts counterclockwise with the lug wrench to loosen them while the tire is still on the ground. Do not take them all the way off yet. (Use your body weight if they are stuck). 3. Raise the car with the jack • Find the jack point: Check your owner's manual to find the correct, reinforced metal frame point near the flat tire. • Elevate the vehicle: Position the jack under the frame point and crank or pump it until the flat tire is raised about 6 inches off the ground. (Optional safety tip: slide the flat or spare tire flat underneath the car's frame as a backup cushion). 4. Remove the flat tire and mount the spare • Take off the lug nuts: Unscrew the loosened lug nuts completely and put them in a safe spot (like inside an upturned hubcap) so they do not roll away. • Pull off the tire: Grip the tire by the tread, pull it straight toward you off the wheel bolts, and set it aside. • Put on the spare tire: Lift the spare tire onto the wheel bolts and push it back until the bolts stick through. • Hand-tighten the nuts: Put the lug nuts back on the bolts and tighten them as much as you can with your fingers. 5. Lower the vehicle and finalize tightening • Lower the car: Carefully turn the jack handle counterclockwise to lower the vehicle back down to the ground. Remove the jack. • Tighten in a star pattern: Use the lug wrench to firmly tighten the lug nuts in a star or crisscross pattern (tighten one nut, then the opposite one across the circle) to ensure the wheel goes on evenly. Put your full body weight on the wrench to secure them. • Stow your gear: Put the flat tire, jack, and tools back in the trunk. • Check pressure and drive safely: If your spare is a compact "donut" spare, do not drive over 50 mph (80 km/h), and visit a tire shop as soon as possible to repair or replace your normal tire.
