In all, Oliver Stone made three versions of “Alexander”. The first was the frequently unjust criticised theatrical version (175 minutes), then an abridged director’s cut (167 min.) and finally the one named “Alexander Revisited” (214 min.). Together with the DVD release of this third version a message from Stone was inserted stating that there would not be a fourth one since all material was used by then. Although that may be true, not all material was in fact used in the “Revisited”-version of “Alexander”. Fragments of (extended) scenes in the theatrical version were not included. This made me re-edit this movie, also re-arranging the scenes to conform with the theatrical version: in chronological order. In total, my version spans about 220 minutes. See for yourself and I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I do.
